South Coast Bayern U10 Girls Take Championship at 2009 Rich Bailey Girls Friendship Tournament

Offensive Onslaught and Tough Defense Propel SC Bayern U10 Girls Soccer Team the Title.

Huntington Beach, CA, February 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- South Coast Bayern’s U10 Girls dominated the competition en route to the title at the 2009 Rich Bailey Girls Friendship Cup held Jan. 31 – Feb. 1, 2009. Outscoring its competition 21-1 in the four games, the South Coast Bayern girls under 10 soccer team showed equal strength offensively and defensively. In the end, a 5-0 victory Sunday afternoon over Fram CQ secured the championship.

Earlier in the day SC Bayern took out the Westside Breakers, 7-1, in a game that featured the only goal allowed by the South Coast Bayern GU10 team all weekend.

The Futbol Club’s other team in the tournament, the South Coast Bayern GU9, also only allowed one goal all tournament and won its division title. According to organizers, it was the first time in the history of the 27-year event that one club has won both the U9 and U10 divisions.

South Coast Bayern scored in bunches all tournament long, beginning with a 6-0 victory over AYSO Arsenal on Saturday morning followed by a 3-0 win over Mission Viejo Sky Blues that afternoon. The show of force by SC Bayern left it just one point shy of a perfect scoring tournament, earning the maximum 10 points in two of the three pool games.

The Rich Bailey Girls Soccer Tournament is the longest girls-only soccer tournament in Southern California. In its 27th year, organizers strive to make the tournament a great experience for all the players and their families.
Teams are Strongly encouraged to follow the friendship theme by exchanging patches, pins, etc., from their league or club after each game. (Each player from both teams should exchange gifts.)

This Class I - CYSA-South Sanctioned tournament is open to teams from; Canada, Mexico; Open to all US Youth Soccer State Associations; Super Y league, US Club Soccer, AYSO; Girls Under 8-14. All games are played in West Anaheim, CA; Central Orange County. Major tourist attractions; Disneyland Park, Disney's California Adventure Park, Downtown Disney Resort, Knott's Theme Park and Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament are located within 5 minutes of our venues.
