New Teacher Joins Staff at Local Music School

Renowned Singing Veteran Wendy Butler to Provide Voice Lessons at Monroe’s Creative Music Center.

Monroe, CT, February 07, 2009 --( Professional singer and seasoned vocal instructor, Wendy Butler, has accepted a position as a vocal coach and piano instructor at Creative Music Center, 701 Main Street in Monroe.

Butler has been a vocal coach since 2001. She most recently ran a private vocal studio in Park Slope, Brooklyn where she taught more than thirty-four students, ranging in ages four through adult. Several of Ms. Butler’s former students were on and off-Broadway singers and actors, performers in the New York’s Metropolitan Opera as well as actors in such television series as “The Sopranos.”

Butler holds a Masters Degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from Westminter Choir College. Her own singing career includes opera and jazz performances, musical theater roles, classical recitals and original pieces sung at the Aspen Music Festival, The Manhattan School of Music, The Metropolitan Opera and the School of American Ballet. She won a “Gold Record” for her solo singing performance on the Trans Siberian Orchestra’s “Lost Christmas Eve” album.
