Manchester, United Kingdom, February 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Lazerian is a creative practice that began in 2006, set up by Liam Hopkins, a Manchester born designer-maker. Based in an ex- hat factory in Manchester, the practice is focused on the creation of functional objects through playful investigation of materials and processes, and seeks to imbue objects with a bit of soul.

The practice works on a variety of projects, including furniture, interiors, and objects. Lazerian designs are available from selected retailers and the online shop.

Jason Chart Davies joined Lazerian in January 2009 and is a designer who explores three dimensional jewellery forms by working hands-on with flexible sheet materials such as paper and plastic. He has always gained satisfaction from the construction of unique sculptural structures, cutting and bending his chosen medium by hand into exciting three-dimensional forms, which have an organic quality to their appearance.

In jewellery, he explores material flexibility through the use of multiple, repeated components, which are combined to create intricate, sculpturally expressive pieces. Jason's creations are bourne of hands-on investigation into material, and through this approach he is currently developing designs for furniture and lighting. With his unique jewellery pieces he explores material flexibility, and boundaries through cutting and bending circular strips into a form to create an original piece. The jewellery pieces are formed to be contemporary and sculpturally expressive.

The form and structure of Jason's jewellery takes shape from his intuitive sense of geometry, combined with a tactile, material based approach to design. Hand-crafted in sheet plastic, the pieces have an organic, intricate appearance, which utilise the flexibility of the medium to create flowing forms under tension.

The bangles range from £45 to £130.
