Rings & Things Wins a Second Pinnacle Award for Commute-Trip Reduction

Spokane, WA, February 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Bead and jewelry supplier Rings & Things has won its second “Way to Go!” Pinnacle Award in two years for its commute-trip reduction (CTR) achievements. The company’s Employee Transportation Coordinator (ETC), Selina Shehan, accepted the award at a January ceremony.

The Pinnacle Award is given to just three employers in Washington state each year. Candidates are judged based on innovative trip reduction strategies, ETC commitment and participation, continued enhancement of the company’s CTR program and management support. One indication of Rings & Things’ enthusiasm for CTR is that the company falls below the size threshold for mandatory participation, but considers it a worthwhile effort to support voluntarily.

Rings & Things actively promotes commuting alternatives through its internal “Trippin’ to R&T” campaign as well as participation in the statewide CTR program. The company has won a variety of awards for its commitment to “greening” its workers’ commutes. Aside from the just-received Pinnacle award, recognition of R&T’s efforts has included a Washington state Governor’s Award for Outstanding Achievement by a Voluntary Employer in the CTR program; a 2006 Pinnacle Award; and an All Star Coach award to Selina Shehan.
