Dblur EDoF Technology Approved by MediaTek

Dblur, the developer of Software Lens™ technology, today announced that their Software Lens™ technology has been approved by MediaTek, a leading semiconductor company for wireless communications and digital media solutions, for use in conjunction with their baseband chips.

Herzliya, Israel, February 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Dblur’s Software Lens™ technology is approved and supported by MediaTek baseband chips.

Dblur, the developer of Software Lens™ technology, today announced that their Software Lens™ technology has been approved by MediaTek, a leading semiconductor company for wireless communications and digital media solutions, for use in conjunction with their baseband chips.

Dblur’s Extended Depth of Field (EDoF) technology was approved after months of rigorous testing. In addition, MediaTek has approved Dblur’s stand-alone chip, PD3615SA available from Pantek.

“The market for EDoF solutions is obviously ripe,” says Guy N. Michrowski, VP Sales and Marketing of Dblur Technologies. “The availability of this technology used in conjunction with MTK’s baseband chips is perfectly timed. Now MTK’s customers can offer fixed focus cameras with ‘Auto-Focus’ functions, including Macro images (from 15cm), business card scanning as well as bar code recognition. By supporting such cameras, we allow our customers to propose a significantly better value proposition to the end-user,” he adds.

Dblur’s EDoF technology approval by MediaTek is a significant milestone for the company as it ensures Dblur’s technology is now available to MediaTek’s mobile phone vendor customers and provides them with significant competitive advantages.

Mass production for the Dblur enabled camera and phones is already in progress, and mobile phone vendors are invited to request samples for evaluation and integration.
