Buffalo, NY, February 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Birdair, Inc., the leading specialty contractor of lightweight long-span roofing systems and tensile structures throughout the world, has been awarded the design-build contract to provide the roof and facade cladding systems for Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ.

As specialty subcontractor for the Major League Soccer stadium, Birdair’s role will consist of engineering, fabricating and installing the roof and facade cladding systems for the 25,000-seat arena. As an integral design component, the contemporary, open-air roofing system and sleek exterior cladding will lend a variety of aesthetic and functional benefits to the world-class athletic facility upon completion.

“Due to the success of value engineering, we were awarded the project for the fabric roof and cladding systems,” explains Kevin Mayer, vice president of business development for Birdair. “We were able to incorporate three different types of tensile membrane in the overall roofing system; it’s exciting and innovative.”

Birdair is scheduled to begin construction on the roof and cladding systems in April 2009, with completion slated for September 2009. The entire complex will be completed in 2010.
