MODA Entertainment’s Documentary on the Classic Film “High Noon” Narrated by Academy Award Nominee Frank Langella

New York, NY, February 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- MODA Entertainment has launched a website for the documentary “Inside High Noon” written and directed by John Mulholland and narrated by Academy Award Nominee Frank Langella. The documentary was released by Lionsgate on a Special Edition 2 disc DVD. The 1952 film classic High Noon was written by Carl Foreman, directed by Fred Zinnemann, and starred Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly.

“Inside High Noon” explores both the film and the story behind its troubled production. “The real-life story behind the making of “High Noon” is dramatic, suspenseful, gripping. Like the film itself, it’s a story of fear, heroism, and the very real danger of political abuse.” says Writer/Director John Mulholland. When released, “High Noon” was seen as an attack on The House Committee on Un-American Activities. However, this means little to an audience today. “Inside High Noon” examines with fresh insight what makes “High Noon” timeless, and why it works so powerfully still, almost 60 years after its release.

The documentary features interviews with President Bill Clinton; Crown Prince Albert of Monaco; Gary Cooper’s daughter Maria, Carl Foreman’s son Jonathon, Fred Zinnemanns’s son Tim, Brian Garfield, Lee Clark Mitchell, Princeton University, Stephen Prince, Virginia Tech, M.Z. Ribalow, Fordham University.

The new official website (insidehighnoon.com) features background information, unused footage of interviews, an interview with the writer/director, and a blog.

Mulholland stated that “What happens up on the screen is in many ways a metaphor for the extraordinary events behind the camera. But “Inside High Noon” also explores the film itself: why it has aroused controversy among critics, why its treatment of women was far ahead of its time, why its treatment of masculinity was far ahead of its time, why it has remained popular decades and decades after its release and, why “High Noon” is the masterpiece it is.”

Among John Mulholland’s other documentaries are: “Cooper & Hemingway: The True Gen,” a documentary exploring the friendship of two-time Academy Award-winning actor Gary Cooper and Nobel Prize-winning author Ernest Hemingway, “On MacBeth”; “Eastern European Composers”; “Charles Dickens and A Christmas Carol”; “Of God & Country: Sergeant York,” narrated by Liam Neeson; “Liza Minnelli on Meet Me in St. Louis”; “Reflections on Gaslight,” and “As Time Goes By: The Children Remember Casablanca.” Mulholland has written for both newspapers and magazines.

“Inside High Noon” was produced by MODA Productions, A MODA Entertainment Company in association with Paramount and is available on DVD from Lionsgate.
