Orlando, FL based indie group, Sound Cannon, will be bringing their high energy performance to Atlanta on March 6th and 7th during the I dO Music – My Band Rocks Weekend. Sponsored by Sam Ash Music Store, Patchwerk Studios, SIR Magazine, The Caldwell Group and others, the weekend promises live performances by 10 of the best new indie bands in the southeast. This is the second in a series of quarterly new music showcases put together by this group of sponsors and boast performances at the Apache Café and the Hard Rock Café’s Velvet Underground.
More than just a band, Sound Cannon provides the sound track to the story of a family overcoming tragedy through the strength of music. The intriguing journey of Jared Hara and his family has been detailed in the award winning film “Blindsided”, an extraordinary story of triumph over tragedy, is an inspiring and heartfelt documentary about a 13-year-old boy, Jared Hara, who loses his eyesight due to a rare genetic disease. The film depicts the powerful story of Jared's life-changing tragedy, its effect on his family, friends, and community, and his triumphant rise above it all. The documentary aired on HBO and HBO Family on October 10th & October 14th of 2008. “Blindsided” is presently airing in the Atlanta market on February 29 and March 29, 2009 or anytime on HBO OnDemand March 15 – April 12. Sound Cannon will be performing live at the Apache Café, on March 6th and at Sam Ash Music Store and The Velvet Underground/Hard Rock Café on Saturday, March 7th. Other performers include Numa, Desmond Myers, Steel Standing, Peace, Pauline Pisano and Atlanta’s own Emery Drive and Leadfoot Messiah.
