Grateful Dead Historic Relics in NY Rock N Roll Auction March 1st

Oceanside, NY, February 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Grateful Dead evolved during a time of mind expansion and influenced a generation of like-minded people and cultural activities, from the music to the art to the experiential lifestyles. The memorabilia from these times was often ephemeral to the people and society yet today reflects a great value to collectors and historians. Concert posters, handbills and records are some of the desired artifacts of the bygone era of free love, mind altering drugs and dancing till dawn in a ballroom with breakfast served at the end.

A very nice selection of Concert posters will be featured in the upcoming March 1st auction including a show at Cornell University, a 1972 cardboard poster for a sell-out in New Jersey, plus Fillmore and Winterland posters and handbills. Also featured will be a rare to come to the market mint condition example of the very first Grateful Dead 45 rpm record from 1966, “Stealin’” on Scorpio Records, plus several other rare Grateful Dead Records and record company promo posters.
