San Jose, CA, March 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Amigo Mapper for iPhone announces number of registered users now exceeds 30,000. Launched in November as a free iPhone app that shares live location with friends, Amigo Mapper by Winkpass Creations had so many downloads in the first week that servers had to be immediately upgraded to handle the volume of web traffic.

Amigo Mapper allows iPhone users to share their live location with friends using an iPhone or browsing the Amigo Mapper website. A marker representing the person (and up to six friends) moves on the map as he or she moves. Users choose whether they want to share their location with friends, and provide updates only when they run the Amigo Mapper application.

"Our biggest following is in Europe," says Leon Atkinson-Derman, founder of Winkpass Creations, "but we receive email from people around the world. One American family described how Amigo Mapper had made a trip across country more relaxing because the loved ones at home could 'watch' them on the move. They said, 'We could not have done it without Amigo Mapper.'"

Winkpass Creations is currently working on Amigo Mapper updates that incorporate user requests and feedback accumulated over the past four months.

Husband and wife team, Leon and Cheryl Atkinson-Derman, founded Winkpass Creations in 2008 to deliver unique content to the iPhone. Learn more about Amigo Mapper and other apps by Winkpass Creations at http://www.winkpass.com. Amigo Mapper is available now on iTunes for $2.99.
