The Thornton Lions Club is Proud to Announce a Star Wars Extravaganza

Redhead Properties, working as a volunteer with The Thornton Lions Club, is assisting with the fundraising efforst in order to allow the Lions Club to provide greater services to the citizens of Adams County, Colorado. Don Frisque has graciously donated his collection of Star Wars memorabilia for this rare event.

Saturday April 25, 2009 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Thornton Lions Club, which has diligently proudly served the citizens of Thornton, CO and Adams County, CO for over 50 years, is proud to announce a unique fundraiser to continue their very necessary volunteer service to the north community.

History of Thornton Lions Club

The Thornton Lions Club has provided vision assistance, helped with donations to many local organizations to include the Salvation Army, and Santa’s Workshop, to provide toys for children during the holidays. They have actively served the citizens of Thornton, CO and Adams County, Colorado by providing students and adults access to an eye examination and eye glasses with if they provide a $10 copay. The Thornton Lions Club has accommodated eye glasses for provided vision assistance to approximately 40 persons per year, for the past 3 years. This unusual, and this fundraiser could provide us the means to double that number and take on additional local projects.

This Star Wars Extravaganza is graciously being hosted at the Pinnacle Charter School located at 1001 W. 84th Avenue, Federal Heights, CO. The Star Wars collection is being provided by Don Frisque. This is the largest private collection of Star Wars Memorabilia in Colorado. There will also be merchandise available for purchase, and also Star Wars characters to have pictures taken with. There will be a nominal charge to have your photo taken and will be available on the same day.

“We are in the midst of a very difficult environment for service organizations and citizens alike, and we are working through the challenges we face with a focus on the factors that we can control,” said Jerry Brungardt, President of the Thornton Lions Club. “It is difficult to predict the impact of the current macroeconomic environment and we are proud of Thornton Lion Team Members for their hard work and dedication to taking care of our citizens.”

The cost of admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for children between 3 and 12 years of age. Children 3 and under will be free. There will also be concessions available, provided by the Pinnacle Leo’s Club. All proceeds will go back into the community as the Lion’s are strictly a non-profit group.

So, come one and come all to this event and beCome prepared for the Star Wars Trivia Contest and the parade of full-sized, Star Wars costumed characters fans.
