Miami, FL, March 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Web 2.0 Initiative to Act as Information Resource for the Global Medical Community.

Social networking used to be the domain of the “tweens” and teens with their texting and online chats on MySpace and Facebook, but more recently it has been successfully adopted by politicians and professionals to both share information and shape opinions. No longer is it just “blogging, twitting, and chatting” but a sophisticated, serious avenue for an interchange of information between friends and colleagues across the globe. However, until now there were few networking sites in existence for the medical community of healthcare professionals.

Medimix International, a leader in global marketing solutions for the life sciences industry, has long been a pioneer in the use of online technology. Today, Medimix International CEO, Henry Gazay, announced that it is introducing a new online platform for the global medical community to facilitate exchange of information, to be called the Global e-Advisory Board.

This e-advisory board consists of a group of experts recruited from renowned centers in the US, Europe and Asia. They are available for consultation on Medimix survey projects conducted for pharmaceutical, medical device or biotechnology companies. Comprised of Key Opinion Leaders who publish regularly in their specialties and speak at conventions, their areas of expertise currently encompass Oncology, Hematology, Neurology, Nephrology and Cardiology. Their involvement with Medimix activities includes participation in survey design, validation work, analysis and reports, and participation in online focus groups moderation.

“Our e-advisory board is currently composed of 60 experts from the US, Europe, and Asia, and we plan to recruit up to 100 of them across other key therapeutic areas,” comments Henry Gazay. “Our clients request more added value and a deeper understanding of complex diseases and treatments. These experts, under the supervision of Dr. Teresa Schoor, our Chief Medical Officer, help Medimix respond to this expectation by further enhancing our medical knowledge and recommendations.”

As a bonus, these experts will be able to communicate with the more than 500,000+ physicians and healthcare professionals from around the world that compose the Medimix panel. Eventually, panelists will also be able to exchange information with the experts, use Medimix’s social networking platform to publish articles and clinical cases, discuss treatment challenges and also have their own personal profile page. This will generate content that will be shared by the community and will enhance knowledge within the medical world.

“Web 2.0 technology is revolutionizing the way people communicate around the world,” commented Dr. Schoor. “We think that this technology brings an extraordinary opportunity for the medical community to exchange valuable information and spread knowledge among physicians around the world through a rich, user-friendly interface.”
