Turner Tops Publishers Weekly List of Fast-Growing Publishing Companies

Publishers Weekly has named Turner Publishing Company as the top-ranked publisher on their list of fast-growing companies.

Nashville, TN, March 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Publishers Weekly has named Turner Publishing Company as the top-ranked publisher on their list of fast-growing companies. Despite a difficult economy, Turner’s growth has expanded exponentially, yielding a 321 percent increase in trade sales between 2006 and 2008.

Turner Publishing expects continued growth with the launch of the new series “Any Number of Things.” The first title in the series, 21 Things to Create a Better Life, will ship in April. 21 Things is a compilation of low-hassle, high-impact practices that enable people to be healthier, wealthier, and wiser. A robust website—twentyonethings.com—has been created to market the book, along with a full line of merchandise, including shirts, mugs, mouse pads, and more to reinforce the positive habits that 21 Things builds.

Turner plans to continue to grow both organically as well as through acquisition. In February, Turner acquired the inventory and option rights for 431 titles from Cumberland House Press.

Turner will also continue to release fiction on both national and regional interest. The novel When Buddha Met Bubba, a touching story defined as “My Name Is Earl” meets Robert Pirsig’s Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, is slated for release this fall.

Todd Bottorff commented, “It’s such an honor. With the whole team here working so hard to create a great publishing company, it’s nice to receive the positive feedback. We are so thankful for our authors, readers, booksellers, and distributors who help make this a reality.”

Founded in 1985, Turner Publishing is an award-winning, independent publisher based in Nashville, Tennessee. Turner Publishing Company imprints include: Turner, Trade Paper Press, and Iroquois Press. More information is available at turnerpublishing.com.
