Merrell Outfits AFCA’s Climb Up Kilimanjaro Team with Footwear for the Climb

Harrisburg, PA, March 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The American Foundation for Children with AIDS (AFCA, www.helpchildrenwithAIDS.org) announced today that Merrell has signed on to donate footwear to the team of 12 that will climb Mount Kilimanjaro this September to raise money to help support AFCA’s programs that provide anti-retrovirals and other medicine, medical supplies and food to HIV/AIDS children and their caregivers living in Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

“We are so grateful.” said Kendra Herington, Event Manager for AFCA. “The team is so pleased that companies like Merrell are willing to help them out on this journey. It gives them the ability to keep their focus on their fund-raising goals and getting physically ready for the climb.”

There are still positions left for the Climb Up Kilimanjaro team and Herington, the rest of the AFCA staff, as well as the current climbers hope that Merrell’s donation will be an added bonus when people are making the decision to climb this fall. They invite other companies to follow suit, donating other items that the team needs for the climb.
