Econsultancy Hires John Gaffney as US Editor

John Gaffney will be supporting Econsultancy's US operations.

London, United Kingdom, March 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Internet research and training specialist Econsultancy has hired internet marketing veteran John Gaffney as US Editor to support its New York operations.

John will oversee Econsultancy's content in the US, focusing on the blog, interviews and research, while also moderating events such as industry roundtables.

He will report to Econsultancy VP Rebecca Lieb and will be responsible for developing content for the company's newsletter, blog, and research reports. Gaffney's editorial experience includes senior positions at 1to1 Media, Mediapost, and Revolution. He has also worked as sports marketing director at Yahoo.

He reports to Econsultancy VP Rebecca Lieb, who joined the company at the start of the year to grow the brand in the US, where many of E-consultancy's 75,000 registered users are based.

"John joins us at an ideal time, with the New York operation now in full swing. It’s great to have him onboard," says Econsultancy CEO Ashley Friedlein.

"We're seeing a lot of demand in the US for the kind of practical research we offer, and John will help us tailor more reports specifically for the US market."

"I'm delighted to have joined such a respected company in the internet space, and to work alongside Rebecca to grow the business," says Econsultancy US Editor John Gaffney.

Econsultancy, which is headquartered in London, launched in the US following the success of its award-winning subscription publishing and events business in the UK.

The company's research and hands-on training courses are recognised globally for helping companies make the most of their marketing and operations budgets.

The privately-held company invested around $500,000 in a new website to better support the needs of its users, as well as plans to expand globally.
