Newton, MA, March 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Telerik, the leading vendor of development tools and user interface components for .NET, is proud to present the Q1 2009 release of its RadControls UI components, Reporting and ORM solutions. The new volume registers another product addition to Telerik’s portfolio – WebUI Test Studio (powered by ArtOfTest), as well as vigorous growth of the Silverlight UI suite. Renowned for its excellence and pursuit of perfection in the UI component development sphere, with Q1, Telerik broadens its product offering even further to become the all-in-one .NET vendor.

“Developers historically associate Telerik with great UI components and industry-best support”, says Telerik’s CEO Svetozar Georgiev. “With Q1 our customers will get more of this - new powerful controls for Silverlight, WPF and AJAX, as well as great tools for increased productivity.”

WebUI Test Studio
Following the acquisition of an enterprise-ready ORM tool in Q3 2008, the newly released WebUI Test Studio is another representation of Telerik’s goal to offer a complete development toolbox. The new solution for automated testing is powered by the innovative ArtOfTest Automation Design Canvas™ and WebAii™Automation Framework. The WebUI Test Studio is specifically tailored for the Telerik ASP.NET AJAX controls - it will automatically recognize RadControls on the page and provide intelligent options validation each control or its child elements.

Telerik WebUI Test Studio is not a generic testing tool, but is rather designed specifically for automated testing of modern web applications, especially AJAX-based, with Silverlight support on its way. It features an Automated Overlay Surface™, a unique visual storyboard, and an array of other advanced features for web solutions. Thanks to the tool’s unique browser abstraction, recorded tests can be run against all supported browsers (Internet Explorer and Firefox; Safari and Google Chrome shortly to follow). WebUI Test Studio is fully integrated in both Team Suite and Professional editions of Microsoft Visual Studio.

RadControls for Silverlight

The Q1 2009 release is brightly illuminated by Silverlight. Traditionally an expert in web user interfaces and a pioneer in Silverlight controls development, Telerik now presents the industry’s most powerful Silverlight UI suite that empowers developers to rapidly create rich, interactive, high-performing line-of-business applications.

Optimizing the different aspects of performance has always been among the first priorities of the Telerik team and that’s why RadControls for Silverlight introduces 3 new techniques for reducing page load time – RadCompression module, asynchronous databinding and direct data operations. Those features are built in the Silverlight Grid, which is officially released together with 7 other controls: RadChart, RadDocking, RadHtmlPlaceHolder, RadMaskedTextBox, RadToolBar, RadColorPicker and a CTP of RadEditor.

With the increasing need for more sophisticated data visualization applications, the Telerik Silverlight team is working hard in this direction. Featuring everything from a super powerful grid, to animated, fully customizable Silverlight charts and Gauges, Telerik Controls for Silverlight transform various business scenarios into interactive, animated visuals that enable end users to analyze complex data. What’s more, Telerik is building a 3D engine for Silverlight, which will first be implemented in the Silverlight Charts with the Q2 2009 release.

RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX
The ASP.NET AJAX suite brings in further performance enhancements across all components as well as two new controls - File Explorer control and HTTP Compression Module for faster data transfer. With Q1 Telerik also launches Visual Studio Extensions package for RadControls, which allows developers to start a new AJAX project in seconds. The scheduling control gets unique client features resulting in great optimizations. Additionally, all Telerik skins get a major facelift for greater visual appeal and consistency across common skin elements.

Telerik Reporting
Another focal point of the Q1 release is the new Cross Tabs instrument for data analysis, introduced in Telerik Reporting. Cross Tabs are important for Business Intelligence solutions as they provide business users with a table-like data format that is easy to understand and analyze. In addition to Cross Tabs, Telerik Reporting Q1 2009 introduces a new HTML Text Box Item that lets developers and IT specialist insert HTML-formatted content to produce customizable and great-looking reports.

Telerik OpenAccess ORM
Q1 brings major enhancements to the OpenAccess .NET ORM which are part of the product’s aggressive roadmap for 2009. The new volume presents improved LINQ support, which will make data access even easier. The feature is validated through the Microsoft 101 LINQ Samples. Another highlight is the implementation of stored procedures for read and write operations. As of Q1 2009 Telerik OpenAccess also supports seamless integration with the Telerik Reporting tool.

RadControls for WinForms
Telerik’s desktop suite introduces new major versions of the GridView, Scheduler, and RibbonBar controls, as well as a new GroupBox component that supports footers and extended title positioning. The new WinForms volume also features theming and UI enhancements across all controls, as well as a brand new theme.

RadControls for WPF
Many of the enhancements introduced in the Silverlight UI suite are also featured in RadControls for WPF. The WPF Grid is enriched with advanced features such as asynchronous databinding, Excel-like filtering, export to Word/Excel/CSV, frozen columns and many more for providing even better performance and user experience. New features are also added to the Chart and Gauge components and a brand new editor – RadMaskedTextBox becomes part of RadControls for WPF.
