GPS Magazine Posts In-Depth Review of Magellan's RoadMate 3000T

New York, NY, July 15, 2006 --(PR.com)-- GPS Magazine (www.gpsmagazine.com) has posted an in-depth review of Magellan's latest in-car navigation unit, the Magellan RoadMate 3000T. Putting the unit through GPS Magazine’s rigorous review process, GPS Magazine gets to the bottom of the RoadMate 3000T, and how it stacks up against the competition.

The release of SiRF's Star III chipset has been a watershed event for GPS navigation. This high-performance 20-channel GPS receiver is allowing GPS manufacturers to improve performance and lower cost. SiRF's StarIII can get a good gps signal even indoors, or when line-of-site is not available. The RoadMate 3000T is Magellan's first unit to utilize the new chipset. Here, GPSMagazine.com put the 3000T through the usual rigorous testing process and see how it stacks up against the competition.

3000T performs well and is overall easy to use. It's a few refinements short of being great, but it's pretty good right now, and with a street price of around $500, it's about $300 bucks cheaper than the Garmin c550 or TomTom GO 910.

GPS Magazine is a web magazine dedicated to everything related to GPS, Location Based Services, Mapping, and all things related to in-car navigation. This site is a non-profit site dedicated to disseminating truthful and accurate information about GPS devices. They started GPSMagazine because of a lack of satisfactory GPS reviews/news websites. Although there are a few such sites, non delve deeply enough into the reviews to give anything more than a superficial overview of a given device. Their reviews are typically 10-20 pages long, and aim to truly give you all the information you need to make the best choice when buying a GPS.
