Hollywood Icon Raquel Welch “Steps Out” for The Palomita Education Fund

International Screen Queen Raquel Welch Designs a Special Edition Tee for Charity Auction “Piensa Mas Alla… Think Beyond…” Event.

San Francisco, CA, April 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Palomita Education Fund is pleased to announce that Golden Globe Winning actress and icon Raquel Welch will be participating in its upcoming charity event, Piensa Mas Alla…Think Beyond, on May 29, 2009 at Terra SF in San Francisco. Welch has designed a unique, special edition t-shirt, which will be auctioned at the event, with all proceeds benefiting Latino education. Welch brings a glamorous star quality to an event that brings together fashion, art and Latino culture. Among Ms. Welch’s efforts to support youth education is her involvement with The Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services. Her philanthropic efforts also include the American Cancer Society, where over the last five years The Raquel Welch Wig Collection by HairUWear, has annually donated more than a million dollars in wigs to cancer survivors suffering from hair loss. She also supports The Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes, which benefits severely wounded veterans of the Iraqi War.

Raquel Welch burst onto the screen and into the awareness of millions of movie fans, who first glimpsed the statuesque beauty in the sci-fi classics Fantastic Voyage, One Million Years BC. But her identity is about more than mere beauty and her world-famous image in that unforgettable doe-skin bikini. The award winning actress and American icon has built an enduring international career, starring in over 45 films and winning a Golden Globe Award for best actress in The Three Musketeers; and another Globe nomination for her work in the MOW, A Right to Die.
