Middle East’s First Gigapixels Photography Shows Dubai Creek in Massive Detail

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, April 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A Dubai based artist has today unveiled the Middle East’s first ever produced multi gigapixel photography, showcasing the Dubai Creek in incredible detail.

The super-high resolution image was produced by German artist Michael R. Ritter of Fürstleur Photography and includes the Twin Towers over to the Government of Dubai up to the National Bank and Chamber of Commerce of the Dubai Creek.

With a resolution of over 3 Gigapixels (1 Gigapixel = 1000 Megapixels) the image equals 300 times the resolution common digital cameras provide and when accessed online allows the viewer to zoom in far enough so that street signs and car number plates can be read clearly.

The production time was one month from planning to the final image and the fine details can also be witnessed when printed as a unique piece of art on swiss papers from Star Coating.

Supported by Dr. Clauss GmbH’s Rodeon VR Panoramic head and Seagate Technology's latest hard disk drives of the Barracuda and the enterprise Cheetah 15k series, Fürstleur Photography is able to take hundreds to thousands of shots and handle the huge amounts of data to realize these projects.

Artist Michael R. Ritter said: “We are currently negotiating the best options to expose a 15 meter print publicly here in Dubai, so that the print can be enjoyed by everybody throughout the city, but the image is currently available to be viewed online and can even be accessed very comfortable on an iPhone”.
