Schrader International Demonstrates Commitment to Customers Through Unified Global Brand

Schrader International has unified all of its global business units under a single brand that reflects Schrader’s global commitment to the company’s diverse customer base.

Altavista, VA, April 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Schrader-Bridgeport International, Inc., a division of Tomkins Industrial and Automotive, today announced that the company has unified all of its global business units under the Schrader International brand. Effective immediately, the name change will better reflect Schrader’s global commitment to the company’s diverse customer base.

“Far beyond simply enhancing our corporate logo, this brand migration speaks to the very core of how we do business with our valued customers,” said Al Stecklein, President of Schrader International. “This migration aligns our worldwide entities to provide our customers with further access to unified Schrader manufacturing locations, technology resources, research and development, and customer relationship support wherever their global business needs may arise.”

The company operated under the Schrader name for over 150 years until its merger with Bridgeport-Piedmont in 1996 to form Schrader-Bridgeport International, the world's largest designer and manufacturer of integrated pneumatic and fluid control solutions.

Following the merger, the Schrader-Bridgeport name was used only in the United States. Additional Schrader entities outside the U.S.—which now include Brazil, China, France, and India—have operated under various other Schrader names. These international entities are also migrating to the new Schrader International brand.

Founded in 1844, Schrader invented the industry standard tire valve with replaceable core in 1898. In the 1950s, Schrader developed the tubeless tire valve, eliminating the need for the inner tube on automobile tires. In 1995, Schrader introduced the industry’s first valve-mounted pressure sensor on mass-produced vehicles.

Today, Schrader is the global leader in tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) for automotive OEMs. In the replacement market, the Schrader AirAware™ brand encompasses a full line of TPMS systems, components and tools that meet OE quality and performance specifications, including sensors, service packs, tools and retrofit kits.
