Helping Musicians Find Work in a Challenging Economy, New England Conservatory Offers Free Trial of Bridge: Worldwide Music Connection

Boston, MA, April 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- New England Conservatory is offering musicians a free trial of its Bridge: Worldwide Music Connection online database service through the end of June 2009. With over 3,000 listings, Bridge is the most comprehensive music opportunities database available. Bridge includes current auditions, competitions, festivals, and grants, plus teaching and arts administration job listings. Subscribers can search by opportunity type, instrument or voice type, geographic location, or keyword.

Committed to helping musicians find creative career paths, Dan Swenson, Bridge Manager and Coordinator of NEC’s Career Services Center, says “In this economy, musicians need all the resources we can find, and we do the sleuthing for them!"

According to Pat Hollenbeck, President of the Boston Musicians’ Association, “these are uncertain economic times, but you have to keep things in perspective—during the Great Depression, Tanglewood was started. Musicians need tools for survival, and they’re going to have to be proactive about their careers. Bridge opens the door to a world of possibilities.”
