Famous Pacific Shipping in Expansion Mode

Despite the tightening global freight market, the Asia-based NVOCC and freight services supplier, Famous Pacific Shipping (FPS), is following a programme of network expansion in established and emerging freight markets.

Hong Kong, Hong Kong S.A.R., April 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Network developments in Australia, China and Europe are boosting the scale of the FPS Group’s worldwide reach.

In Australia, FPS has expanded its presence through a range of strategic investments and planning decisions that will see the Group ratchet up the pressure on the competition. Key to growing the Australian market is the exciting launch of a road haulage subsidiary and a recent multi-million dollar investment in a new, high-spec warehouse and office building in Melbourne, Victoria.

Elsewhere in the Pacific region, FPS has established a new office in Zhongshan, a leading Chinese industrial city that hosts some of the world’s largest shoe factories. The city is close to Hong Kong and Macau and benefits from aggressive economic developments, especially in manufacturing industries.

A second office has been established by FPS Hong Kong in Ronggui, Shunde on the West Pearl River delta, between Guangzhou and Zhong Shan.

In Indonesia, FPS Indonesia has moved to a new location in Medan to offer an improved service to clients. The move comes as FPS Indonesia approaches its third anniversary since it was established as a standalone forwarding subsidiary of parent company PT Internusa Buana.

In Europe, FPS Rotterdam has spearheaded expansion of the network into new and exciting markets that are emerging into full EU and Euro membership. FPS Prague has been established as a network presence in a growing Central European country. Long the location of heavy engineering companies such as Skoda, the country is becoming a full member of the world trading community.

Now FPS Rotterdam has taken the plunge and expanded into Slovenia, one of the smallest but most dynamic countries in the former Yugoslavia, creating FPS Koper.

The country is small, barely the size of New Jersey, but is keen to fully embrace the ideas of international trade, especially with the Far East.

Comments FPS Chairman, Iskandar Zulkarnain: “Companies that are members of the Famous Pacific Shipping group offer an array of international NVOCC and freight forwarding operations. As a group, we are always investigating how to expand our services and network.

“All partners share the Famous Pacific Shipping commitment to high quality services backed by integrated IT systems, financial stability and professional personnel. All have an equal chance to achieve expansion and benefit from the group’s policy of appointing strong local and regional partners, whilst continuing to look for international opportunities. This continues to assist in growing our route capability through mutual sales, allied to local expertise.”

Famous Pacific Shipping’s global network now includes 40 individual companies from 21 different nations worldwide, working together under the FPS banner.
