iGavel Presents Spring Auction Highlights

New York, NY, April 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- iGavel’s Spring Jewelry sale, ongoing through April 22, includes consignments from many of their Associate Sellers. Highlights are an Ancient Egyptian gold Snake Ring from the Late Ptolemaic Period (232 – 30 BC). Snake rings and bracelets were very popular in antiquity and were worn possibly for protection against the evil eye or to ensure fertility. The ring is estimated at $2,500-3,500. An 18K Yellow Gold Chain, by Van Cleef & Arpels, has an opening bid of only $500, and is estimated at $1,000-1,500. A Nardi 18K Yellow Gold and Emerald Blackamoor Brooch is also part of this diverse jewelry sale. This brooch is estimated at $3,000-4,000. There is a Wedgewood Porcleain and 14K Yellow Gold Ring for sale as well, with a starting bid of $350.

Next week, Litchfield County Auctions will open their Jewelry * Modernism * Antiques & Asian Art Sale on iGavel.com. The sale will take place from April 15-29. Included is a work by the Mexican artist Sergio Bustamante. This item, entitled ‘Peacock', is a Brass Studded Silvered Metal Figure, and is estimated at $1,500-2,500.

Next week will be the America: Charity Photography Auction benefiting Americans for the Arts. The sale will take place from April 16-30. This exceptional event will showcase a wide range of stunning images from a highly influential group of established photographic masters and exciting emerging artists.

Ruggerio & Associates’ Spring Sale will be on iGavel.com from April 23 – May 7.
