St. Helena, Napa Valley, CA, April 11, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- Raymond Vineyards recently installed a new MBF Rinser/Filler/Corker/Capper Monobloc bottling line, with a cost of over $1 million, at their Napa Valley winery. MBF hand builds state of the art bottling lines using cutting edge technology to produce superior quality bottling equipment for the wine industry. In particular, they have focused their efforts on a patented valve designed to guarantee near zero oxygen pick-up to safe guard high quality wines, as well as automatic cleaning systems for the entire monobloc, precision bottle filling levels, vacuum corking to further eliminate cork dust and the ability to apply screw caps.
“This was a big financial decision for us, but we feel this is the best possible equipment out there. This is the latest technology and will ensure the best quality wines going into each bottle,” says Walter Raymond, Winemaker and President of Raymond Vineyards.
The first wine to be bottled at Raymond Vineyards using the new equipment will be 2008 Raymond Napa Valley Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, which is scheduled for release later this spring.

About Raymond Vineyards
Raymond Vineyards began in 1971 when Roy Sr., Roy Jr. and Walter Raymond purchased 90 acres in what is now the Rutherford appellation of Napa Valley. After removing walnut and prune orchards to plant grape vines, the Raymond family celebrated their first harvest in 1974. Today, Walter Raymond is joined by his daughter Krisi and her husband Kirk, Walter’s nephew Craig and Craig’s wife Margaret to continue the family’s winemaking legacy. The Raymond family’s roots in the Napa Valley date back to 1876, when Jacob and Frederick Beringer founded Beringer Brothers Winery. Both Krisi and Craig Raymond represent their family’s fifth generation of Napa Valley winemaking tradition.
Raymond produces Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc as well as limited production Cabernet Sauvignons from the Rutherford, St. Helena and Oakville appellations and Generations Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. A limited production Small Lot series of wines were introduced in 2008 and are available exclusively to the winery’s club members and tasting room guests.
