Hope Goes to Hollywood

Green publisher v is sending Hope to Hollywood. Just in time for Earth Day 2009.

Birmingham, United Kingdom, April 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- For the first time ever, one of Lollypop Publishing’s green books, Hope and the Magic Martian, will be found in Hollywood as part of “A-list” for “Earth Day in Hollywood — Go Green” gift bags by Distinctive Assets. Some of the most eco-conscious celebrities will receive a fabulous modern day fable to read and share.

Hope and the Magic Martian, written by Helen Moore and illustrated by Louise Rouse, tells the story of 10 year-old Hope, who meets a Martian boy and discovers why Earth’s polar caps are melting. At the North Pole, the new friends hear the Arctic animals’ stories about their warming world. Hope fears she’s too young to do anything to help - but the Martian’s magic shows that taking small steps at home and at school can make a real difference. At a time when the future can seem uncertain, this modern fable offers a loving vision of how we can all change the environmental story that shapes our world today.

“Children are our future. Helen Moore’s beautiful and compelling story will inspire every child who reads it.” says Satish Kumar, editor of Resurgence Magazine.

Carl Honoré, author of In Praise of Slow and Under Pressure agrees. “If you want to introduce your children to the climate change debate without scaring or boring them to death, then pick up a copy of Hope and the Magic Martian. It’s a gentle but inspiring story about the dangers we face and how we can change course. Helen Moore writes with a poet’s eye for detail and ear for the rhythms of language. A wonderful read.”

Our World: Lollypop publishes books on a range of green topics from climate change and the environment to sustainability and social issues, using books to educate our new generation and their parents. Sustainable reading, sustainable learning, and sustainable choices.

Charity: 10% of the profits from sales of the book are donated to charity. Hope supports CLIC Sargent - a leading children’s cancer charity.
