SmartAVI Unveils New DVI Router 8x8 Video Matrix Switch

Digital Video Matrix Switch Provides Dynamic Approach to Creating Up to 8 Computer Stations as Far as 20 Feet from CPUs.

Burbank, CA, April 16, 2009 --( SmartAVI, a world-leading innovator in the fields of digital content creation, management and delivery solutions through hardware and software, today unveiled its DVI Router 8x8 digital video matrix switch, further expanding its impressive and cutting-edge line of digital signage and A/V hardware.

The DVI Router 8x8 is an affordable, powerful digital video matrix switch capable of displaying content from up to 8 computers to up to 8 separate display screens independently as far as 20 feet away.

“With the DVI Router 8x8, our clients have the flexibility to create and manage remote computer terminals such as you’d find at help kiosks, workstations that require absolutely no CPU noise such as film and music recording studios or even a multimedia presentation on a stage, at a trade show booth or in a board room,” said Albert Cohen, CEO of SmartAVI. “In cases where security is a key issue, the DVI Router 8x8 allows up to 8 users to remotely access a CPU or group of CPUs that are safely maintained in a controlled, secure location. Our DVI Router 8x8 is a powerful A/V tool at an aggressively affordable price point, making it the perfect solution for professional system integrators and architects.”

DVI Router 8x8 is controlled via its user-friendly, Windows®-based SmartControl software, a trademark feature of many SmartAVI products, developed specifically with beginning and intermediate users in mind. The hardware is operated by RS-232, Ethernet or IR input.

The SmartAVI DVI Router 8x8 provides single-link, DVI-D operation at the maximum TMDS rate of 2 x 1.65 Gbps at resolutions up to 1920 x 1200. The DVI signals can be transmitted through 20 feet of copper at the maximum TMDS rate on both the input and output sides of the switch.

Consumers may purchase the new DVI Router 8x8 for $2,599.00 either directly from SmartAVI from the company’s website or through any of its distribution partners, including Ingram Micro, SYNNEX, D&H or Adimex. For more information, please visit
