Bucharest, Romania, April 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- AXIGEN (http://www.axigen.com), the professional messaging solution vendor, today announces the commercial release of a new version of its messaging solution, AXIGEN Mail Server 7.1. The new release focuses on taking business productivity and communication to the next level by porting AXIGEN’s groupware and sharing capabilities on a wider range of email and calendaring clients.

The new version enables companies to take advantage of groupware and collaboration features through the added iCal (Webcal) support. iCal unlocks these functionalities for email and calendaring clients such as Mozilla Thunderbird, Mozilla Sunbird, Apple iCal, Outlook 2003 or Korganizer, thus facilitating improved communication between team members by granting them access to their Calendar entries, or shared resources such as other users’ Calendar and Tasks folders or Free/Busy status.

Adding to its existing high-end Push Email and PIM Synchronization capabilities, AXIGEN 7.1 also features a much faster and improved Outlook Connector that supports working in offline mode. While performing their daily tasks, users no longer depend on being connected to the network in order to access their messages, contacts, calendars or tasks from the Microsoft Outlook email client. All changes performed in offline mode are automatically synchronized with AXIGEN Mail Server once the access to Internet is restored, while also enabling the sending of messages from the Outbox folder.

“AXIGEN focuses on giving businesses the freedom they need in their activity. Our goal is to provide them with all the latest features designed to help them increase productivity and thus revenue, while also requiring as little effort as possible to accommodate our messaging solutions. We believe adapting our mail server to the applications they are already proficient in using is highly more effective than having companies replace them with software they are not familiar with,” stated Oana Bornaz, AXIGEN CEO.

One of the top ten messaging solutions in the world according to The Radicati Group, the AXIGEN Mail Server features a carrier class technology and outstanding support. Winner of the ServerWatch 2007 Product Excellence Award for the Communications Server category, AXIGEN runs on several Linux and BSD distributions, on Solaris, on Windows operating systems, on PowerPC and SPARC architectures and is becoming the messaging solution of choice for a growing number of service providers and enterprises worldwide.
