Synology® Disk Station DS209+ screamed through performance tests in the PC World lab, receiving 100% for performance and a "Very Good" overall rating of 82. The DS209+ is part of Synology's new 09 series Disk Stations, offering customers from office to corporate data center an unbeatable mix of maximum performance, features and affordability.

Taipei, Taiwan, April 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Synology Disk Station DS209+ is quickly becoming known for its high performance, outperforming all 2-bay NAS units on the market today. "The DS209+ has lots of benefits: Compact two-bay design; user-accessible drives; speedy performance; and RAID 0, 1, and JBOD configurations. This model screamed through our performance tests: It required just 216 seconds to copy our 3GB folder of files," according to Jon L. Jacobi and Melissa J. Perenson at PC World.

"We are pleased to see that PC World experienced such great performance out of our DS209+, says Doug Self, product specialist of Synology America Corp. "The DS209+ is extremely fast and comes fully loaded with the robust features of the Disk Station Manager 2.1. With our 09-series Disk Stations, not only do you get a high performing NAS unit but you also get integrated applications to manage your photos, stream digital music, download files, perform automatic backups, remotely access files, and even use the DS209+ as a network video recorder. There is a ton of value in our 09-series, right out of the box" Adds Self.
