)-- Graphic design and strategic marketing firm, Van Vechten Creative, LLC, (VVC) is pleased to announce that senior designer Kathy McGraw and junior designer Christine Nguyen have joined their creative design team.
Kathy brings over six years of design experience - designing corporate collateral, brochures, identity, and direct mail pieces for the life science, real estate, wine, and financial industries. A graphic designer, illustrator and scientist, Kathy obtained her background in graphic design from San Diego City College, Palomar College, and biomedical illustration from CSU Long Beach. Additionally she holds two Bachelor of Science degrees (Marine Biology and Chemistry) from Roger Williams University, and a Masters of Science degree from SUNY at Stony Brook. She was previously at The McCulley Group and also started her own freelance company, Bioviz, which catered to the life science and pharmaceutical industries.
Kathy's background in the sciences brings a unique perspective to her work, and her passion for color, type, and texture is apparent in the rich quality of her designs. She provides a solid use of color theory and a strong understanding of the creative process.
Christine is a native San Diegan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design from San Diego State University. Christine is the recent overall winner of the 2006 AIGA San Diego Student Portfolio Review and also received an honorable mention in the Typography category. Her previous experience includes working for design firms such as Blik and Maximo Inc. She is a highly ambitious and dedicated member of the Van Vechten Creative team. Her passion for design can be seen in her work and in her interaction with clients and colleagues. Christine is a very active member of the AIGA, serving as a volunteer for the past five years. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, the arts, and theatre.
