First Annual Space Coast Boating Week Kick-Off Event – BoatBrevard.com WaterFest 2009

Port Canaveral, FL, April 24, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Billed as the "Central Florida’s Largest On-the-Water Boating Gathering," the BoatBrevard.com WaterFest on May 9, 2009 will be a record-breaking event as boaters of all sorts from all over Central Florida will gather to celebrate the local boating lifestyle and kick-off the Brevard Marine Advisory Council’s First Annual Space Coast Boating Week and Waterfest. Boating Week and Waterfest promotes and highlights the recreational, economic, and ecological benefits of our shared waterways.

The BoatBrevard.com WaterFest on May 9th will be held at Ski Island near Port Canaveral. It is expected to draw boating enthusiasts from all around Central Florida; including, but not limited to Brevard, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Polk, Lake, Marion, and Sumter Counties.

This gigantic boating event will feature an island luau theme, live band / entertainment, a bar-b-que, drinks, children and adult island games, water volleyball, giveaways and much more. Examples of some of the prizes include: vacation packages, tiki carvings, and gift certificates. This year's inaugural event will also feature live entertainment by The Detours, a book signing by Bob Brown, the author of Bermuda Suicide Challenge in a Flats Boat, and other vendors, such as Island Oasis and ABonita Scarves.
