A third-generation Napa Valley, CA native, Trent Ghiringhelli recently left ZD Wines after ten years as Tasting Room Manager and Wine Educator to focus exclusively on Heibel Ranch Vineyards and his popular backcountry winemaker’s tour. From the tailgate of his 1963 Willy's Military Jeep, Trent leads tours of his family’s 186 acre ranch nestled on the backside of Howell Mountain. The experience is second to none, bouncing through creeks, Manzanita groves, Redwood stands, while enjoying the beautiful, scenic landscapes of Napa Valley. Food & Wine magazine recently featured Trent’s Jeep Tour and Heibel Ranch Vineyards in ‘The Hidden and Affordable Napa Valley.’

Heibel Ranch Vineyards, named after Trent’s maternal grandfather George B. Heibel, the owner and proprietor of the historic Aetna Springs Resort from 1945 to 1973, is a family operation. Trent’s partners are his mother, Helen Heibel Nelson, and stepfather, Bruce Nelson. The vineyard, planted in 2003, consists of nearly two acres of CCOF certified organic grapes; one acre of Cabernet Sauvignon, a half acre of Zinfandel and a quarter acre of Petite Sirah. The 2006 Lappa’s is a medium to full bodied blend representative of their estate grown grapes. Only 136 cases and eight 3 liters were produced and are priced at $32.00 per bottle and $300.00 for the jeroboams.
