Dallas, TX, May 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- On May 19, recording artist Cabe Lindsay will self-release his debut album, Take A Deeep Breath, on his independent label, Optimistic Realism®.

Lindsay, still in his 20’s, invested over 2,000 hours into production of the album, over the course of 4 years, while maintaining full-time employment and attending graduate school. “Now that audio recording is so accessible, anyone can make a record,” said Lindsay. “It’s only a matter of effort, and making music is practically free, so it qualifies as one of the best things in life.”

He recorded his music project completely in home studios, and bartered with a sound engineer in Montana, named Missoula Soundworks (http://www.missoulasoundworks.com), for mixing and mastering. This bartering arrangement exchanged his web design skills for MSW’s audio production expertise.

Once he had figured out a way to produce the album in the level of quality he desired, he had to come up with a means for distributing his album: a daunting task for an amateur musician. So again, he looked within. Relying on his experience as a marketing specialist, he created a new advertising agency, named Optimistic Realism (http://www.optimisticrealism.com), and invested in it as a record label.

The full-length CD, which does not easily fit any marketing mold, is primarily acoustic, singer-songwriter-style textured in spacey digital soundscapes. It is a lyrically-driven album in the genre of indie folk, although he describes it differently. “It’s folkin’ cosmic,” Lindsay smiled. “That’s my style.”

The album’s 13 songs on are vastly diverse in sound and style, from the all-vocal song, “In The Now,” to the all-instrumental, “Three Spirits Free.” Take A Deeep Breath is mostly a collection of stories. Subject matter includes tragedy at sea in “Westward Setting Sun,” a tale about a hot-air balloon crash, and an 8-minute epic folk song about a heroic bumblebee: Be Well Bee.”

On the album, Lindsay performs as the primary vocalist, guitarist, and bassist. Other contributing musicians include: Nathan Zavalney, Shelby Cunliffe, Lee McAfee, Catlin Hill, and Jordan Lindsay.

Take A Deeep Breath, once released, will be available first on the official music site of Cabe Lindsay: http://www.cabelindsay.com. Listeners can preview the complete album online before purchasing.
