Los Angeles, CA, May 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- With the tragicomedy O’Horten, Norwegian writer-director Bent Hamer (Factotum, Kitchen Stories) returns to his domestic landscapes, offbeat humanism and stylistic quirks of earlier works. The bittersweet, episodic tale of an ultra-dedicated locomotive engineer uneasily transitioning into retirement provides warm and gently humorous entertainment.

At the age of 67, loner (but not lonely) Odd Horten (Bard Owe) is forced to step down from his engine-driving job. An encounter with Trygve Sissener (Espen Skjonberg), an elderly gent with a cheerful “it's never too late” philosophy, inspires Horten to finally take off his uniform and open himself to things he never previously tried. Sony Pictures Classics releases the film in select theaters on May 15, 2009. O’Horten was this year’s Norwegian Academy Award entry for Best Foreign Language Film.

KAADA
The Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet described KAADA as Norway's film music guru. Over the last seven years, he has created the score to fifteen Norwegian and international productions. Often times, one might describe these movies as quirky, sometimes funny or simply weird.

KAADA’s music underscores the eccentric quality of the films and sets the tone for characters and plot to unfold. His score focuses on calm melodies played on exotic instruments, many of which he built himself. It is highly original, and sometimes compared to Jon Brion’s work.

KAADA has toured the world, and released a number of solo albums, film music albums and albums with his rock trio Cloroform. He is also known for his collaborations with a variety of artists, among them former Faith No More singer Mike Patton.
