Maroochydore Accommodation Operator Slashes Rates

Maroochydore, Australia, May 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Elouera Tower in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast has launched it’s own `stimulus package’ in the form of massive reductions on the standard rack rate of accommodation across May and June 2009.

Discounting accommodation by up to 50% seems a dramatic move, but the proprietor of the resort, Gerry Harte has a simple philosophy. “We need to meet the market, and at this time of the year when it is normally quiet, the challenging economic climate has made it more so.”

When asked how apartment owners would react to the reduced tariff return Gerry indicated, “Our apartment owner clients understand that to keep occupancy at a reasonable level they must be prepared to be most competitive in terms of the tariffs they ask for.”

This is a refreshing approach from an operator marketing one of the stalwart buildings in the popular Cotton Tree `Golden Triangle’. Gerry added, “Elouera Tower has undergone some tremendous improvements over recent years with the building being fully cement rendered, painted and had new balcony rails fitted. The work has greatly enhanced the exterior appearance of Elouera. This combined with the renewal of the Tennis Court, Pool and lift upgrades has brought facilities in line with the newer Sunshine Coast buildings.”

It seems the extraordinary discounting is finding it’s mark with Gerry reporting a pleasing response through bookings in May and June.
