National Gospel recording artist grants mother's wish of singing hit song "Who Would have thought at son's funeral. Who's life ended abruptly on the way home from GradNite with his students.

Fort Lauderdale, FL, May 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- On May 9, 2009 funeral services were held for Gerald Oliphant, a 27 year old a teacher of South Florida Preparatory Academy located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Mr. Oliphant’s life ended abruptly on May 3, 2009 as a result of an auto accident while on the home from GradNite, which is held at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, along with seven of his students.

During the services at New Birth House of Prayer located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; the family of Oliphant requested that 4 Reel Records National Gospel Recording Artist R. Lee Bryant sing his hit song “Who Would Have Thought” which he wrote as a tribute to our President Barack Obama on November 5 2009, a day after the election.

There was a capacity crowd of over 1000 mourners in attendance at the service. As Bryant sang the song he moved the audience so……….. That after his performance of “Who Would Have Thought” the Florida Memorial College Gospel Choir joined Bryant in finishing the song.

Oliphant’s mother Bernice J. Oliphant was especially touch by the rendition that she had expressed her appreciation because her late son and god-daughter Paris Passley had written a play based on Bryant’s song; She stated “I wished you could have seen my son in this play and I wished that we had recorded it so that we could actually play it while you sang, that’s the only disappoint I have besides that fact that I don’t have my son anymore”.

R. Lee Bryant has just released his new album “Keeping It Real” which debuted in April 2009 on WEDR (99JAMS) and is being played in Japan. Also “Who Would Have Thought” when first released as a single in December of 2008 was played in Australia. Mr. Bryant hopes that one-day he will be able to perform his song “Who Would Have Thought” for President Barack Obama, which is also on the “Keeping It Real” album.
