Unimed-Midwest Introduces Splash Shield Lite Comfortable, Disposable Face Shields

New Splash Shield Lite disposable face shields are a comfortable and effective solution for dental professionals, lab and central reprocessing/sterilization workers, and dialysis centers’ face protection needs.

Lakeville, MN, May 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Now there’s a comfortable, effective alternative to expensive, heavy and hard-to-clean face protection masks. Lightweight and easily worn over glasses, the Splash Shield Lite disposable face shield is comfortable and easy to wear. It also provides greater face protection than paper or fabric masks.

Splash Shield Lite consists of a reusable plastic frame (available in four bright colors) to which is attached an optically clear, disposable face shield. The disposable shield easily snaps onto the plastic frame, and is just as easily disassembled. The frame rests on the forehead (comfortably padded by foam attached to the inside of the shield), and is held secure by the sides of the frame resting above the ears. The foam padding also holds the shield out in front of the face, which, when combined with the shield’s anti-fog coating, ensures a continually clear viewing area.

Splash Shield Lite is more effective than reusable hard plastic masks or paper/fabric masks. Because the shields are disposable, users always get a clear, scratch-free viewing area. The shield also offers excellent coverage of the front and side of the face, for great peripheral vision.

Splash Shield Lite offers excellent infection control. The frame is easy to clean with a disinfectant wipe, and the soiled shield is disposed of and replaced. (It is not recommended to disinfect and reuse the disposable shield because disinfectants can destroy its fog-free coating.) Splash Shield Lite is also 100% latex-free.

Dental hygienist Constance Sheller says, “I had previously been wearing only paper earloop masks. After trying out a sample of the Splash Shield Lite disposable face shield, I and my co-workers were astonished to see just how much debris the disposable shield was protecting us from. It was alarming to realize that all of that debris was previously ending up on our faces! We placed an order right away, and have been using them ever since.”

Ideal for dental professionals, lab workers and anyone who requires protection against liquids, droplets and sprays, Splash Shield Lite provides full face protection. Also, it is available in two shield lengths: 5¾” and 7½”, to cover both smaller and larger faces comfortably. Both shield sizes are available in starter sets which contain four frames and 20 shields, as well as replacement frames and shields.
