California Fashion Designer Featured in Buying Guide for American-Made Children’s Products

California-based children’s fashion designer and huge supporter of American manufacturers and cotton mills, Toni Tierney, is proud to be mentioned in ‘buy America’ guide, Made Here, Baby.

San Francisco, CA, May 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Children’s fashion designer and California native, Toni Tierney, has been supporting the American economy since she started her namesake company Toni Tierney Children’s Clothing in 1994.

Each of her whimsical designs is sewn by an American mother who’s earning an income while being at home with her children, something Tierney feels any mother who wishes to should be able to do. Tierney is also a large supporter of American cotton mills with every piece she designs being made from 100% cotton.

In a book released earlier this year by Bruce Wolk, Made Here, Baby!, the very American Toni Tierney was mentioned as one of the manufacturers US consumers can trust when shopping for goods for their children. Tierney will also be a featured American manufacturer on madeherebaby.com this week.

“I was so happy to learn I’d been mentioned in this wonderful guide, and even more pleased when I heard I would be a featured manufacturer on madeherebaby.com,” states Tierney. She adds, “I’m grateful that Bruce has written this book so parents have an easy way to source items for their children that were created on American soil, and I’m delighted to be part of it.”

Author of Made Here, Baby!, Bruce Wolk, is a strong advocate of woman-owned American manufacturing companies. For his book he heavily researched and interviewed more than 400 US manufacturers of children’s items including clothing and accessories, furniture, toys and games.

Wolk has stressed throughout his website and other marketing avenues for the book that none of the manufacturers in Made Here, Baby! paid to be mentioned in the book. Each of the companies featured was researched heavily in order to provide consumers with a real choice and companies that approached Wolk offering to pay for a mention were declined.

About Toni Tierney

Toni Tierney is motivated by the sincere desire to help her community through creating a beautiful product born from love so children can be wearing homemade clothes, something which has sadly become a lost art in America. Another passion of Toni’s is to help mothers be at home with their families. She feels strongly about this and as much as possible, hires mothers who can work from their homes to be with their children while making the pieces of clothing she designs.

Her mission is to help parents be at home creating so a new generation of children can see their moms and dads working with their hands. Her ultimate goal is to help spread this philosophy across the country so people all over the United States can get back to their roots, slow down and bring back those traditional ways of earning a living.

Several elements differentiate Toni’s designs from others in the marketplace. First and foremost, each piece is detail driven. Her products are not highly manufactured, but she designs in the moment creating wonderful trends from interesting types of fabrics, lace and trim. Another quality that differentiates Toni’s designs is, in support of American cotton mills, all of her pieces are made from 100% cotton knit with comfort, durability and affordability being of utmost importance.
