SaaS Market Set to Grow Substantially, Says Report; Indusa Affirms Statement

Software as a Service (SaaS) is said to be in increasing demand due to the availability of broadband services in many countries and also due to the emerging markets across the Asia Pacific.

Oakbrook Terrace, IL, August 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A Springboard research survey whose audience were Asia-Pacific SaaS users revealed that 35 percent of them were interested in purchasing SaaS-based ERP (enterprise resource planning) in the next 12 months. About 20% of them were already using SaaS ERP. The audience specifically consisted of 530 CIOs and decision makers across various enterprises.

Also according to the report, the market for software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based ERP in the Asia Pacific (excluding Japan) is projected to rise from US$35 million in 2008 to US$193 million by 2012.

“We expect the SaaS market to grow faster in Asia, particularly in the markets of China and India than in US or any western market,” says Nandita Nityanandam, Business Development Manager, Indusa Technical Corp. “Most SMBs (small and medium-sized businesses based in US too will prefer to adopt SaaS, the reason being, lean companies with a core team comprising of less than fifty employees would not want to incur heavy expenditure on licensed software.”

Additionally according to the Springboard Research January 2009 report, the Indian SaaS market is expected to see a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 76 percent in tge interim of 2007 and 2011. The revenues are expected to reach US$260 million in 2011. SaaS ERP and SaaS CRM applications are projected to have the highest demand then, according to the report.
