Columbia, SC, May 29, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- CEREC uses computer technology, CAD-CAM (Computer Assisted Design - Computer Assisted Manufacturing) to exact specifications for the ultimate in ceramic tooth restoration. With this technology, the doctors at Creative Smiles can specifically design and shape the tooth that needs to be restored. Then they take an optical image of the tooth using a special camera. The dentist sends the picture to the CEREC computer and a block of ceramic material is used to design and create the new restored tooth. The restoration is bonded to the tooth, for a permanent hold. CEREC technology allows ceramic tooth restoration in a single office visit, saving time and money.
CEREC technology allows the computer to mill the restoration tooth in as little as 15 minutes. CEREC technology offers many advantages over traditional tooth restoration procedures. There are no impressions made and no temporary teeth needed. The ceramic material used for the restoration is natural looking and more durable than processed ceramic. The material is biocompatible, high-grade and is resistant to plaque and abrasions. The ceramic bonds to the healthy tooth so effectively, the bond is actually stronger than the tooth itself.
With the advanced technology of CEREC, tooth restoration is fast, precise and permanent with a natural looking restoration completed in one office visit. The doctors at Creative Smiles are proud to bring this cutting-edge technology to the Northeast Columbia, SC area. CEREC technology eliminates extra office visits and inconvenient temporary teeth with precision tooth restoration from the highest quality dental ceramic.
