Concepts NREC Team to Deliver Three Papers and Exhibit at ASME Turbo Expo 2009

Presentations, including ASME Turbo Expo 2008 Best Technical Paper Award winner, about turbomachinery performance modeling, radial flow meanline modeling and analysis of heat transfer in automotive turbochargers promise to be valuable.

White River Junction, VT, May 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Concepts NREC, a world leader in turbomachinery design, research, engineering and manufacturing, today announced that company representatives will deliver three technical paper presentations to audiences during the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Turbo Expo 2009 in June at the World Marriott Resort, located at 8701 World Center Drive in Orlando, Florida. One paper is the ASME Turbo Expo 2008 Best Technical Paper Award winner. Mechanical engineers from automotive as well as other industries will benefit from Concepts NREC’s 50-plus years of turbomachinery expertise behind each of the three presentations delivered by experts in their fields.

“Concepts NREC is proud to have a role in three ASME Turbo Expo 2009 presentations,” says Dick Keiling, president of Concepts NREC. “The theme for this year’s exposition is ‘Power for Land, Sea and Air.’ We are happy to share our extensive knowledge generating power and performance efficiencies for turbomachinery in all three of these arenas.”

June 9: Concepts NREC’s first technical paper, “Pulse Performance Modeling of a Twin Entry Turbocharger Turbine Under Full and Unequal Admission,” will be delivered by Nicholas C. Baines, Aaron Costall, Robert McDavid and Ricardo Martinez-Botas on June 9 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. The presentation will cover recent code development work to improve machine sub-model accuracy essential for virtual product development that meets US non-road Tier 4 emission standards.

June 10: The second Concepts NREC technical paper to be delivered at ASME Turbo Expo 2009 is the ASME Turbo Expo 2008 Best Technical Paper Award winner entitled, “Meanline Modeling of Radial Inflow Turbine with Variable Area Nozzle.” It will be presented June 10 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. by Xuwen Qiu, Nicholas C. Baines and Mark R. Anderson and will cover ways to address clearance gap issues in variable geometry nozzles for maximum turbine performance and efficiencies.

June 11: The third Concepts NREC technical paper presented during ASME Turbo Expo 2009 is “The Analysis of Heat Transfer in Automotive Turbochargers” by Nicholas C. Baines, Karl D. Wygant and Antonis Dris on June 11 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. It will cover how to measure and account for heat transfer in any turbocharger performance assessment.

The ASME Turbo Expo 2009 will run June 8 through June 12. Concepts NREC will be a key exhibitor at this exposition in booth 211.

On Sunday, June 7, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Emerald Board Room #20454, Concepts NREC also will host its annual CAE Users Group Meeting in conjunction with ASME Turbo Expo 2009.
