IDology Inc Approved as Identity and Age Verification Provider for State of Michigan Direct Wine Shipments

Michigan First State to Use Formal Testing Evaluation Process for Selection of Verification Providers.

Atlanta, GA, August 11, 2006 --(PR.com)-- IDology Inc., a leading provider of identity and age verification solutions, today announced that the Michigan State Liquor Control Commission has approved its ExpectID Age as a provider of identity and age verification services for direct wine shipments.

This announcement comes directly after IDology’s news last Thursday to provide identity and age verification to a children’s social networking site.

“Age and identity verification systems face a triple challenge,” said R. Corbin Houchins, distinguished regulatory and antitrust counsel to the wine industry, “First, they must provide online wine sellers with electronic verification equivalent in reliability to a face-to-face transaction. To support e-commerce fully, they must also protect youngsters against the real dangers they encounter online in places like social chat rooms, a task IDology has now taken on, according to last week's news. In addition, the systems must be so robust that they satisfy all regulatory concerns and so convincing that they put to rest even unrealistic fears of access to wine by minors. Hats off to IDology for clearing all three hurdles.”

Using test data, the Michigan State Liquor Control Commission’s screening process of ExpectID Age correctly identified those subjects that were underage and those subjects that were of legal age.

“In obtaining this approval, the State of Michigan put our ExpectID product to the test,” said Raye Croghan, VP of Products at IDology.  “Based on our performance, this validates our leadership position in providing age verification.”

“Michigan’s acknowledgement of ExpectID Age speaks to the legitimacy of using age verification in consumer not present transactions both on the Internet and in call centers,” said John Dancu, CEO of IDology.  “And because it’s part of our comprehensive ExpectID product suite, businesses can easily take advantage of our knowledge-based multiple choice questions when more in-depth verification is required.”
