Wait Wear Takes Its Chastity Themed Apparel to the Bedroom

The clothing line Wait Wear shifts is focus from confrontational tee shirts to the individual by introducing a pajama line for guys and gals who are committed to purity until marriage.

Los Angeles, CA, June 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Two new lines of pajamas targeting teens and college students with an unabashed message of abstinence will make their debut on June 13. Premiering at a Re-Launch Party/Sneak Peek Fashion Show in Los Angeles, the new Chaste Couture by Wait Wear and True Gentlemen lines will be available through retailers beginning late July 2009. “If your message is chastity, you have to go to ground zero – the bedroom,” said Yvette Thomas, describing the concept behind the pajamas. Thomas is the founder and CEO of Wait Wear, the company offering the new lines.

Most items will retail between $18 to $55 and will feature pajama bottoms with coordinating tops, underwear, sleep shirts, lounge pants and tanks. Each item incorporates a symbolic or written message of abstinence, encouraging those opting for a life of purity until marriage.

Thomas started the Wait Wear clothing company in 2002 and is no stranger to offering commitments through clothing. But her focus has shifted with the new pajama lines. Having offered bold, confrontational tee-shirts and other apparel with pro-abstinence messages in the past, she wanted to bring the focus back to the individual. “The pajama lines aren’t about converting people to abstinence. They’re about supporting those who have made that personal choice in a comfortable, fashionable way.”

Thomas has seen the need for her clothing lines do nothing but grow. “With the mass media continuously upping the ante on sexually-explicit material, individuals committed to celibacy are challenged every single day.” In the case of children, her opinion is backed up by Pediatrics.org, which notes, “Television is seen as an increasingly influential agent of socialization that produces its effects through children’s propensity to learn by imitation.”
