Innovative Tell-a-Friend Contest Allows Members to Win a Prize by Sharing the Homepage Link

The member who drives the most unique site visits by sharing the homepage link wins a $200 giftcard.

Seattle, WA, June 06, 2009 --(, the world’s first and only free OneNote community website designed for OneNote lovers and fans everywhere has just launched an innovative Tell-A-Friend contest which encourages members to share a modified version of the site’s URL with their friends to win a $200 giftcard.

Site members are encouraged to share the link with their network via email, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, their personal blog or social bookmarking sites like Digg, Reddit and Stumbleupon.

“We are using the Ignite platform from Meteor Solutions to track which site visitors came from which member distributed link,” says James Mastan of Blue Rain Marketing that developed the site. “The ten members who have driven the most traffic during the contest period will be displayed on a leader board on the home page and the member in the number one position at 12pm on June 11, 2009 will win the prize.”

Using Javascript on the IHeartOneNote site, the Meteor platform identifies and tags each site visitor, the content they share, the recipients that respond, and the site or media (e.g., email) through which responses came.

Mastan says the goal of the contest is to reward and recognize members who are actively spreading the word about the site. “We are incredibly excited that the site has taken off in such a short period of time and that we have managed to create a vibrant and active community of OneNote users,” he said.
