Calloway's Nursery Offers Educational Events for Children

Fort Worth, TX, June 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Calloway’s Nursery will host monthly educational events at all of its locations for children ages 5-12 throughout the summer.

Dubbed Callie’s Kids, these educational activities will be held on the second Wednesday of June, July and August at the O2 Planting for the Future Station from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. On June 10, children can visit any Calloway’s Nursery location and participate in tin can tomato planting. Children should bring a tin can, and supplies will be provided so they can decorate and pot tomato seeds. On July 8, those who join in the Callie’s Kids program will create artful impressions by rubbing tree leaves on craft paper. Then, on August 12 participants will be offered the opportunity to make a mini bird feeder with pine cones. All of these free activities last for one hour, and children who participate will learn ways they can help the earth and can take his or her finished craft home.

“Calloway’s Nursery is excited to offer these free activities to kids so they can garner an appreciation of gardening and a respect for mother nature at an early age,” Kimberly Bird, Vice President of Retail Marketing said.
