Art After Dark Sparks "Inner-Artist"

Erie Art Museum offers a la’carte art class.

Erie, PA, June 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- For Erie Art Museum Education Coordinator Stephanie Campbell, launching the Museum’s newest art class is about discovering a new facet of your abilities.

“In this relaxed studio atmosphere, new art projects are started each week exploring different media, artists and styles of art,” said Campbell. “Each project is created following a guided step-by step process which still encourages personal creativity.”

According to Campbell, this step-by-step process is a “user-friendly” approach to taking an art class. “So many times, we think ‘I’d like to do that’ and then become intimidated thinking that ‘I don’t’ have any artistic ability’. What’s great about Art After Dark is that I will take an almost paint-by-numbers approach that will guide beginners and challenge more advanced students to work with new media and new techniques.”

“This class is also great for anyone who has wandered through the aisles of an arts and crafts store with excitement and enthusiasm – only to walk out empty handed, bogged down with reality and excuses. If you find yourself getting creative in cooking, gardening, decorating – chances are, it’s your “inner artist” searching for a creative outlet,” said Campbell.

Art After Dark is held each Friday evening for six weeks beginning June 19 from 7:15-9:15 p.m. at the Erie Art Museum, 423 State Street. Cost is $60 for Museum members and $95 for non-members and includes all supplies. Participants can also pay per class, selecting specific weeks, for $20/class.
