PBS Franchise Antiques Roadshow Chooses Wireless Communication Experts Talamas Broadcast Inc. for Its 14th Season

PBS’s much acclaimed production Antiques Roadshow has chosen Talamas Broadcast Inc. to provide the wireless communication systems for its 14th season, currently in production.

Newton, MA, June 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- PBS standout Antiques Roadshow has tapped Talamas Broadcast Inc. to provide wireless communication infrastructure and video support for its 14th season. Talamas Broadcast is no stranger to the production, having provided the wireless for the first 13 seasons as well. The frequency coordination for this year’s production proved particularly challenging in light of the FCC-mandated transition to digital television and Antiques Roadshow required a company capable of navigating the RF spectrum both pre and post transition.

The first stop on the tour was Atlantic City, which filmed before the transition date of June 12, followed by stops in Raleigh, Madison, Denver, Phoenix and San Jose, which will film after the transition date.

Talamas Broadcast customized an audio package merging Sennheiser wireless receivers and mini transmitters, Telex and HME wireless intercom systems and a combination of Schoeps, Shure and Sennheiser microphones. The audio package was integrated with a pair of Sony high definition camcorders used to produce webcasts and for on-the-scene interviews.

Antiques Roadshow is PBS’s highest-rated series with an audience of close to 11 million viewers each week and is hosted by Boston native Mark Wahlberg.
