Art and Jewelry Retailer TWIST Selects Local Retirement Plan Advisor

Portland, OR, June 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Northwest art and jewelry retailer TWIST has chosen the Portland firm The Commerce Company as the new Financial Advisor for the company’s retirement plan.

Acclaimed in the Pacific Northwest and nationally for its collections of crafts, glassworks and jewelry, TWIST was founded in 1980 and has since opened 3 stores in the Portland and Seattle metropolitan areas. TWIST set out to find a new Advisor for their 401(k) plan in April, and selected The Commerce Company last month. “We feel a strong responsibility to help our employees make intelligent and appropriate decisions with their 401(k) savings,” said Paul Schneider, owner and founder of TWIST. “We felt it was important to find an advisor who has worked with both experienced and beginning investors, and whose services include individualized programs for our employees.”

“Our team strives to provide the highest quality service to our clients and their participants,” said The Commerce Company President, Jed Schlanger. “We aim to position ourselves as a single-source contact, to the point that many of our clients view us as an extension of their benefits department.”

The Commerce Company was founded in Portland in 1995 and provides corporate retirement and investment planning for small to mid-sized businesses throughout the Northwest. An independent registered investment advisor, The Commerce Company also has a wealth management office in Tacoma, Washington.
