OTA Training Appoints Elcombe as New GM for Australasia

Dallas, TX, June 24, 2009 --(PR.com)-- OTA Training, the global leader in hands-on, vendor-neutral RFID training and certification, has announced the appointment of Jonathan Elcombe as General Manager of OTA’s operations in Australia and the Pacific Rim.

OTA Training has been active in providing advanced RFID training to its Australian clients. In July 2008, the company opened an office in Canberra as a base for its Australasia region. Within three months, it had presented OTA's highly acclaimed 4-day, "A Systems Approach to RFID and RFID+ Certification" program in Canberra. By mid-November, the company offered RFID training and certification at an additional training location in Melbourne and has recently completed its first “RFID in Healthcare” course for ACT Health in Canberra.

Earlier this year, just a month after the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) ruled that RFID devices with up to 4W of power may now be used in Australia in the 920-926MHz band, OTA announced that it would include additional training for 4 Watt RFID devices in the classes hosted in Australia.

Elcombe joins OTA Training after C-level executive positions as CEO at Secura Shield, developer of an affordable RFID e-Seal high security seal for shipping containers and General Manager at ORGA Card Systems responsible for the Middle East, North Africa and India. From mid-1984 through May 1999, Elcombe was a commercial manager for TNT Express Worldwide with international assignments in a variety of positions in Australia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 2008 he participated in the GS1 Phase 3 pilot for Transport and Logistics between Japan and Europe. He is also a keen inventor focusing on Tamper evident RFID solutions.
