"Freedom – Use It or Lose It" is the Topic of the July 1 Episode of Why Shamanism Now? Radio Show

In honor of Independence Day, teacher, author, and founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing Christina Pratt talks about the concept of freedom on her show "Why Shamanism Now? A Practical Path to Authenticity."

Portland, OR, June 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Streaming live on the Voice America Network (www.voiceamerica.com) on Wednesday, July 1 at 2 p.m. Pacific time/5 p.m. Eastern time, on her show "Why Shamanism Now?", founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing Christina Pratt talks about how freedom is essential for love and love is essential for the power to act authentically. According to Pratt, doing what you have always done does not require authenticity, nor does it require much power (which is why it feels easy and comfortable). However your soul’s purpose lies out there, beyond comfort and easy, past authenticity and on into the realm of power and passion.

In this episode of "Why Shamanism Now? Freedom – Use it or Lose It”, host and shaman Pratt asks the questions: Are you free to express your power? Do you claim the freedom to express your true self mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, professionally, and intimately? Wherever you are not fully, passionately and powerfully your true self, you are not free. The stories we carry of our past wounding, unmet childhood needs, and chronic fears are our own imprisonment. This week’s show focuses on freedom and how listeners can cultivate inner authority, claim their freedom to love and live their true selves.

Christina Pratt is an authentic, non-traditional contemporary shaman. In practice since 1990, she specializes in mending the soul and transforming the parts of life that feel impossible. A teacher of exceptional clarity, humor, and inspiration, Pratt brings the power of shamanism into the practical grasp of anyone willing to take responsibility for improving the quality of their life. Her well-received book, An Encyclopedia of Shamanism (Rosen), is an 800 page, two-volume set with over 750 in-depth entries that clearly discuss the basic concepts of shamanism, methods, and traditions of over 50 different shamanic peoples. Pratt is the founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing in Portland, OR, and New York, NY, creator of the original Foundations of Shamanism and Shamanic Healing course at the University of Minnesota, and a frequent and honored speaker for the American Holistic Medical Association.
