Automated Valet – AVPM’s Operation Board Monitoring System Takes the Guesswork Out of Valet Parking

Plantation, FL, July 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Automated Valet’s newly released 2.0 version allows users to track every movement at a valet facility. The AVPM 2.0 Operation Board monitors the activities of staff and the placement of cars and keys, among other things. It puts all the information vital to excellent customer service and revenue control in easily accessible place, making accuracy and speed the standard.

The Operation Board specifically protects against lost keys and misplaced vehicles. Keys and vehicles are checked in together and counted and recorded by the Operation Board. If a key is not delivered to the dispatch office within 12 minutes of receipt, the system will alert staff members. Once cars are received and their keys checked in to the dispatch center the system will monitor any movement of the keys by valet staff.

The Operation Board consists of several components including the Arrival Board, Request Board, and Retrieval Board. The Employee Board records employee hours and performance reports. The Garage Board tracks parked vehicles and provides a complete and up-to the-minute garage report and occupancy.

The Arrival Board lists all vehicles within the system and their status whether parked or in transit, and the amount of time that has elapsed since the vehicle was last handled. The Arrival Board also lists keys showing those that have been delivered to the dispatch office, and those that are still in use. If a vehicle is moved or being re-parked or keys are in use for any reason other than a customer’s request, the key is flagged on the arrival board until it is returned and checked in.

The Request Board shows valet staff customers’ requests for their cars. Requests can be made at a customer request kiosk, e-mail or text messaging the AVPM 2.0 system from cell phones, web enabled TV from the hotel room, or by the site’s cashier or key room attendant. Audio and visual alerts will be given whenever a car is requested.

After a vehicle request has been made, and a key has been pulled, the Retrieval Board begins tracking the retrieval process with a time stamp on each transaction. The key pulled must match the requested vehicle or the garage exit kiosk does not grant access out. All vehicles in the delivery process will be listed on the board along with their ticket number and owner’s name. The Retrieval Board will also list the status of the car, including location and time passed since the car was requested and the time passed since it was last handled. When a guest has received his or her vehicle and their ticket is scanned the car will drop off the board.

Lost keys and long delivery times are a main cause of valet customers’ dissatisfaction. The AVPM 2.0 Operation Board monitoring system eliminates guess work about the locations of keys, cars, and employees and facilitates the process of receiving and delivery.

“We have seen our clients install this feature and go from losing ten sets of keys every day to losing less than one set per month,” says Automated Valet CEO Ken Gulec. “It is an amazing solution to a common problem at valet operations, and it is included in the AVPM core system with no additional charges. AVPM 2.0 features make the process for valet even more simplified than before”.
